Christmas Ornaments workshop. Vocabulary: yarn, string, ornaments, Christmas, tradition, wrap, turn, decorations, decorate. Teaching – anglophone winter traditions : decorating the Christmas tree. Conversation: what winter traditions do you celebrate?
Weeks 8-9 : Thanksgiving. Learning about thankfulness, North American traditions, food, doing arts and crafts, learning vocabulary and phrases. Reviewing what we did over our holiday break.
Weeks 6-7 : Halloween. Dressing up in costumes, songs, halloween vocabulary, card games, trick or treating, arts and crafts.
Week 5: Colours. Going deeper on the traditional learning of colours. Learning about primary, secondary, tertiary colours through colour wheel, collages and card games.
Weeks 3 – 4 : Autumn Equinox : Autumn vocabulary, memory games, card games, activities, anglophone traditions, crafts.
Week 2 : Apples. All about apples and anglophone traditions centered around apples. Taste testing, music, drawing, experiments.
Week 1 : Introductions. Observing our new space, what are the textures, smells, colours, shapes in the room? What is your name, age, favourite thing?
