Oxford in Chelles – 5ème Edition, Easter 2019 (Day 3)

Today was one for the books! Students were parading around the campus chanting the Jack n’ Jill anthem, putting the final touches on their art projects and exuberantly dancing to the beat of Uptown Funk. Here are some highlights from Day 3.

Laurine putting in some last minute weaving on her art project.
Lily Rose and Lise having a jolly time painting their flower vases.
Charles-Ely is so focused on creating a masterpiece.

What is so amazing is that students always come to Jack n’Jill and learn a new skills. One such skill is skipping. Students make it their goal to develop this skill and have an absolutely fantastic time doing so.

Here are some of our brilliant skippers showing off their new skills.

The final day of camp is approaching and students are making last minute preparations for the grand show. Today, students spent time rehearsing all of the songs and did a superb job blending their voices to the accompaniment of the piano.

Group 9’s instructor Ms. Erin who is a professionally trained music teacher guides the students through the songs.

It would not be an ordinary day at Jack n’ Jill if laughter wasn’t bursting through the hallways from happy campers playing a game of « Happy Families ». With all the rich vocabulary students discovers about the family and various professions it is no wonder this game is amongst our students favorite.

HOORAY! The Otters burst into excitement after winning a game of Happy Families.

At Jack n’ Jill dance is also one of our main priorities. Besides the fact that it’s obviously great cardio it aids in great coordination, developing a new skill and most importantly increasing students’ vocabulary. Students learn new verbs such as: jump, step, criss-cross etc. As well as new positional words such as: to the left, to the right, move back, move diagonally, go down etc.

We ended the day on an exceedingly high note. All of the students assembled into the center of the room to do the line dance.
